2 WEEKS AND COUNTING

Can you beleive we are only TWO WEEKS AWAY!!!!!!!!! I think I have been driving poor Diana Guerra crazy with all my questions, but, theres many things that are "different" than when I usually book travel.............like our room upgrades. I don't really understand the whole "room assignment at check-in" but okay. I'll deal. I know when I get there I am going to love it and nto care, BUT............I did get some more information on Friday regarding available updgrades.

As I understand it, we are all traveling under memberships and therefore, are all eligible for membership benefits. So, as part of those benefits, we are given room preferential at the time of check-in. So, if ocean view is available, ocean view is given to you automatically. I had asked Diana what upgrades are available and what was the cost that we would pay out of our credit. Here was her reply: "the best upgrade will be upgrade to Concierge Level (as it gives you ocean view guaranteed); however, the concierge suites at the Moon Palace are only located in the Nizuc section (you are currently booked for the Sunrise section). The cost for the upgrade is usually $200.00; however, the resort will inform you upon arrival at check in time (and it will be deducted from your resort credit). The other upgrades (e.g. better view, close to lobby, ocean view, ocean front) it really doesn’t make a difference to you as a member because you have priority to such requests (as you are a member). "

So, I ask myself, what do you get for the conceirge level upgrade? Below are the additional benefits of conceirge level:

  • DVD Player

  • CD Player

  • Purified Water

  • Two (2) 25 Minute Massage at the beach or spa (location varies)

  • Private Beach Lounge Chair Area with Waiter Service

  • Exclusive Beach Bag (one per room/per stay)

  • Aromatherapy menuEspresso/American Coffee Maker

  • Alarm Clock/Radio/IPOD Dock

  • Profesional Hair Dryer

  • 24-Hour room service from select restaurant's to create a "Special Menu"

  • Private candlelight dinner at select locations (once per stay)

  • Nightly Petit Fours

  • Pillow Menu

  • Exclusive Concierge Phone Service

  • Private Check-in & Out/ Late Check-out & Early Check-In (subject to availability)

In looking at the website, it looks like the Conceirge level only has King Size beds, so I would need to double check with Diane on that one.

The problem is that the Conceirge level is only available at the NIZUC section and not Sunrise or Grand. So, we may not all end up in the same building, but we will try and be as close as possible.

Only 4 weeks and 2 days away!

Okay, it's time to put somewhat of a schedule together for everyone that want's to go on excursions.........Here's a schedule that Dave and I came up with. We're thinking if you're planning to do any of these tours to plan them for the same days so that we can go as a group. If someone want's to do something different all together, that's okay too! Relax..................you'll be in Mexico!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday - Arrive at Resort; Book excursions

Sunday - X-treme Kingdom Ziplining - $80 pp (out of your $1500 credit)

Monday - Speed Boats/ATVs/Snorkeling - not part of the inclusive tours, but a great day of fun! If you want to go to the Ruins (Chitchen Itza), this would be a good day to go too. Chitchen Itza is $100 pp ($67 for kids) (out of your $1500 credit). Warning - it's a long way! About 2 1/2 hours away.

(2009 - Cancun Trip - Vickie)

Tuesday - Swim with the Dolphins -$129 pp/Wet and Wild Water Park - $59 pp (both out of your $1500 credit)

Wednesday - Isla Mujeras - This is an island off of the Yucatan - they take you by party boat. It's about 20 minutes across the ocean. They drop you at another Palace resort where you can stay, eat, and relax on the beach, or go into town and shop, rent mopeds or golf carts and go around the whole island. It's a great day! $75 pp/$40 pp for kids - (out of your $1500 credit)

(2009 - Cancun - Mopeding around the island of Isla Mujeras. Stopped to see the sights)

Thursday - Tulum/Xpu Ha - Xpu Ha is actually another Palace Resort that has snorkeling, pools, etc. It was pretty rough in Jan. 2009 because of the hurricanes the previous year. They lost almost their whole beach. So I'm not sure how much it's recovered. But it was still nice, sitting in the hammocks under to palms on the beach that was still accessible. They spend 1/2 at Xpu Ha and 1/2 at Tulum, which is Ruins. It's pretty, from what I remember.................but I was REALLY sick that day (me and Quentin) so the memory isn't that great. AND, there was a huge tarantula on the wall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the backdrop of the blue ocean against the ruins was a pretty sight. This trip is $75 pp/ $45 pp for kids - (out of your $1500 credit)

Friday - Cancun Day - we love to spend a day shopping in Cancun, and checking out the other Palace Resorts (Beach Palace, Cancun Palace or Sun Palace). They all have great pools and restaurants that you are able to eat and drink at (all inclusive at all Palace Resorts!).

Pool at Cancun Palace

Carlos and Charlies

Saturday - Time to go home :( .................I always leave, looking forward to our next visit.............It's my FAVORITE vacation!
